Ingredients

Scale

Sliders

  • 1 package Hawaiian Sweet Rolls (12 count)
  • 18 slices thin deli ham
  • 12 slices Swiss cheese

Butter Sauce

  • 1 stick butter (8 tablespoons)
  • 1 tbsp yellow mustard
  • 1/2 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 1/2 tbsp dried minced onion
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper

Optional Toppings

  • Parmesan cheese, for sprinkling
  • Dried parsley, for garnish

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven: Set your oven to 350°F (175°C) to prepare for baking the sliders.
  2. Prepare baking pan: Line a 9×13 inch baking pan with aluminum foil and spray it lightly with cooking spray to prevent sticking.
  3. Slice rolls: Remove the Hawaiian rolls from the package in one whole slab. Using a sharp knife, carefully cut the entire slab horizontally in half so you have a top layer of rolls and a bottom layer.
  4. Assemble base layers: Place the bottom half of the rolls in the prepared baking pan to form the base of your sliders.
  5. Layer fillings: Evenly layer half of the ham slices over the bottom rolls, then add all the Swiss cheese slices on top of the ham, followed by the remaining ham slices.
  6. Add top rolls: Carefully place the top slab of rolls over the layered ham and cheese, pressing gently to align with the bottom half.
  7. Make butter sauce: Melt the butter in the microwave until fully liquid. Whisk in yellow mustard, Worcestershire sauce, dried minced onion, salt, and pepper until combined.
  8. Pour sauce over sliders: Drizzle the buttery mixture evenly over the top of the assembled sliders, allowing it to soak in between the rolls.
  9. Rest before baking: Cover the pan with foil and let the sliders sit at room temperature for 5 to 10 minutes so the flavors meld.
  10. Bake covered: Place the covered pan in the oven and bake for 20 minutes, allowing the cheese to melt and the rolls to soften.
  11. Finish baking uncovered: Remove the foil and bake the sliders for an additional 5 minutes to brown the tops slightly.
  12. Add optional toppings: Sprinkle grated Parmesan cheese and dried parsley on top if desired for added flavor and presentation.
  13. Serve: Slice the sliders into individual portions and serve warm for best taste.

Notes

  • Using Hawaiian sweet rolls adds a perfect balance of sweetness to the savory ham and cheese.
  • Worcestershire sauce enhances the umami flavor but can be omitted if you prefer.
  • Be gentle when cutting the rolls to avoid compressing them too much.
  • Parmesan cheese provides a nice salty crust but is optional.
  • These sliders can be assembled ahead and refrigerated for a few hours before baking.
  • For a lower-sodium option, choose low-sodium ham and reduce added salt.
