Main Ingredients
- 6 large croissants
- 8 tablespoons butter, melted
- 1/3 cup white chocolate chips, melted
- 1/4 teaspoon coarse sea salt
- 3 tablespoons ground cinnamon
- 3 tablespoons brown sugar
- Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to 350ºF to prepare for baking the croissant cups.
- Cut Croissants: Slice each croissant into 5-6 pieces and place all pieces into a large mixing bowl.
- Prepare Butter Chocolate Mixture: In a microwave-safe bowl, combine the melted butter and white chocolate chips. Microwave for 30 seconds and stir until smooth and fully combined.
- Mix Cinnamon Sugar: In a small bowl, mix together the coarse sea salt, ground cinnamon, and brown sugar.
- Coat Croissant Pieces: Drizzle half of the butter and white chocolate mixture over the croissant pieces in the bowl. Toss them gently until all the pieces are well coated. Then sprinkle half of the cinnamon sugar mixture over the croissants and toss again until evenly covered.
- Prepare Cupcake Pan: Line a cupcake pan with parchment cupcake liners and lightly spray the liners with nonstick cooking spray.
- Fill Cupcake Liners: Place 5-6 coated croissant pieces into each cupcake liner. Gently push the pieces together slightly without smashing, to form a pull-apart cup.
- Top with Remaining Mixture: Add the remaining cinnamon sugar to the leftover butter and chocolate mixture and stir well. Drizzle this mixture generously over the top of each croissant cup.
- Bake: Bake the croissant cups in the preheated oven for about 10 minutes or until they are golden and the topping is bubbly. Remove from the oven and allow to cool slightly before serving.
Notes
- Use day-old or day-old croissants for best texture as they absorb the butter mixture better than fresh croissants.
- To make it easier to cut, slightly freeze croissants for 15 minutes before slicing.
- You can substitute white chocolate chips with milk or dark chocolate chips if preferred.
- Ensure not to overfill the cupcake liners to prevent overflow during baking.
- Serve warm for the best gooey texture and flavor experience.
