This Cinnamon Applesauce Quick Bread is a moist, flavorful loaf perfect for breakfast or an afternoon snack. Made with unsweetened applesauce and warm spices like cinnamon, nutmeg, and pumpkin pie spice, it offers a comforting taste with a tender crumb. The quick bread uses everyday pantry ingredients and comes together easily, baking in under an hour for a large loaf or just 30 minutes for mini loaves.

Ingredients

Scale

Wet Ingredients

  • 1 1/4 cup applesauce (unsweetened preferred, but any kind works)
  • 3/4 cup sugar
  • 1/2 cup vegetable oil
  • 2 eggs
  • 3 tbsp milk

Dry Ingredients

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 1/2 tsp baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp cinnamon
  • 1/2 tsp nutmeg
  • 1/2 tsp pumpkin pie spice
  • 1/4 tsp salt

Instructions

  1. Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit and grease a 9×5 inch loaf pan or five mini loaf pans, depending on your preference.
  2. Mix Wet Ingredients: In a medium-sized bowl, combine the applesauce, sugar, vegetable oil, eggs, and milk. Stir them together until well blended.
  3. Add Dry Ingredients: Gradually add the flour, baking soda, baking powder, cinnamon, nutmeg, pumpkin pie spice, and salt to the wet mixture. Stir gently until just combined—avoid overmixing to keep the bread tender.
  4. Pour Batter: Pour the batter evenly into the prepared loaf pan(s), smoothing the top slightly.
  5. Bake: Place the loaf pan(s) in the oven. Bake mini loaves for about 30 minutes or a large loaf for approximately 60 minutes. Check doneness by inserting a toothpick into the center; it should come out clean when ready.
  6. Cool and Serve: Remove the bread from the oven and let it cool slightly before slicing and serving. Enjoy fresh or store for later.

Notes

  • Using unsweetened applesauce keeps the sugar level manageable but you can use sweetened if preferred for a sweeter bread.
  • Mini loaf pans reduce baking time and make great giftable treats or portion control options.
  • Do not overmix the batter once the flour is added to prevent the bread from becoming dense or tough.
  • Store the bread in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3 days or refrigerate for up to a week.
  • Feel free to add chopped nuts or raisins for added texture and flavor.
