  • ½ cup nut butter (such as peanut or almond butter)
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 3 tablespoons maple syrup

Dry Ingredients

  • 2 cups rolled oats
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • ½ teaspoon salt

  • 1 cup chocolate chips

Instructions

  1. Preheat Oven: Heat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a 9×9-inch baking pan with parchment paper to prevent sticking.
  2. Mix Ingredients: In a large mixing bowl, combine mashed bananas, nut butter, rolled oats, cinnamon, vanilla extract, maple syrup, chocolate chips, and salt. Stir thoroughly until all ingredients are well incorporated.
  3. Prepare for Baking: Transfer the mixture into the lined baking pan. Use a spatula or your hands to flatten and spread it evenly into a uniform layer. Optionally, sprinkle some extra chocolate chips on top for added texture and flavor.
  4. Bake: Place in the preheated oven and bake for 18 to 20 minutes. The bars are done when the edges are golden brown and the center appears set and firm to the touch.
  5. Cool and Slice: Remove the pan from the oven and allow the bars to cool completely in the pan. Once cooled, lift them out using the parchment paper and cut into squares or bars for serving.
